5Qs: Registrar Worker By Day, Piano Man By Night
By Sarah Grafman
APPIAN STAFF WRITER

Ethan Kreitzer, the man who likely stamped your study card, lives a double life. He recently submitted to five questions from The Appian.

1) You're a mild-mannered registrar worker by day, but by night?

I've been known to rock the keyboards on stages with Lincoln Conspiracy.

2) How would you describe your band's music?

Imagine if Elton John hired The Strokes to be his backing band, fired the guitar players, and they didn't practice.

3) Where did the name Lincoln Conspiracy come from?

It's a very bad movie (based on a very bad book) released on my date of birth. Steve (the drummer/singer) is the only other person that's seen it.

4) How has working at HGSE influenced your sound?

Most of my lyrics are about cross-registration, add-drop deadlines and grades. Actually my co-workers let me listen to cds from 9-5, which is sweet.

5) Okay, it's the dreaded desert island question: What five albums would you take with you?

Dreaded indeed.

1. Bruce Springsteen, "The Wild, the Innocent and the E. Street Shuffle"
2. Prefab Sprout, "Steve McQueen aka Two Wheels Good"
3. Guided By Voices, “Bee Thousand"
4. Bob Dylan, "Love and Theft"
5. Graham Parker, "Squeezing Out Sparks"
